When a horse has had a heavy training or during hot weather it looses a lot of fluid through sweating. This way horses control their body temperature. While sweating a horse doesn't only loose a lot of fluid, but also a lot body electrolytes (salts). Espescially natrium, kalium, chloride and magnesium.
